"Ryan Sisson provided reflections for Earth Day that highlighted the enduring call from Leviticus 25:23 to view the land not as something to own, but as a sacred trust—linking this ethic to the modern “tragedy of the commons” and the environmental awakening sparked by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring.

Drawing on the legacy of Stephen Lewis and the environmental philosophies of Aldo Leopold and Henry David Thoreau, he emphasized that caring for creation is both a moral and spiritual responsibility—calling us to live not as owners, but as stewards of a shared and fragile world."
